What exactly is VegiBread?

VegiBread is a single-serve, gluten-free savoury bread mix made with real vegetables and ready in minutes.
Just add water, an egg, and a splash of olive oil to the sachet, mix in a ramekin (about 11cm diameter) or a flat bottom mug, and microwave for 4 minutes. That’s it! Out comes a warm, veggie-packed slice of bread—perfect for soups, snacks, or anytime you need fresh bread fast.
It’s soft, satisfying, and made for people who want real food with real convenience.

Is VegiBread safe for Coeliacs?

Absolutely! As a Mum who has a daughter diagnosed 20 years ago, I am well versed with Coeliac Disease including knowing the importance of cross contamination.  All implements and benches are thoroughly cleaned before cutting and drying vegetables and making flour blends.

All ingredients are 100% gluten free and our dehydrators, chopping boards, blenders and sifters are all dedicated gluten free as well.

What are the ingredients in VegiBread?

We try and source as many Australian grown products as we can, however there are times due to seasonal growing periods we do source from overseas.  This includes beetroot powder as it includes an anti-caking agent (470/551) that prevents the bread mix from clumping. 

 

Carrot & Greens

Dehydrated vegetables (Spinach, Beetroot, Zucchini, Cauliflower, Carrot 5%, Lettuce mix 5%), GF Flours (Maize, Rice), Starch (Tapioca, Maize), Psyllium, Raising agents (450, 500), Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, Thickeners (464, 466), Anti caking agent (470, 551).

 

Capsicum, Garlic & Herbs

Dehydrated vegetables (Spinach, Beetroot, Zucchini, Eggplant, Capsicum 5%, Garlic 3%, Onion, Celery), GF Flours (Maize, Rice), Starch (Tapioca, Maize), Psyllium, Herbs 5% (Thyme, Rosemary, Sage, Marjoram, Oregano, Basil, Parsley) Raising agents (450, 500), Xanthan Gum, Guar Gum, Thickeners (464, 466), Anti caking agent (470, 551)

Can you use an egg replacement?

I have tried with egg replacement powders & flax seed gels without success.  

If you find an egg replacement that works please let me know. 

 

How many servings is in a VegiBread sachet?

VegiBread sachets contain a single serving.  

As they are so easy to make, it can be ready to go in under 10 minutes.

Can you toast VegiBread? (Updated Jan 2025)

Previously I have said that VegiBread is unable to be toasted due to the high vegetable content . So although a toaster is out of the question, our customer Belinda has successfully made VegiBread in the microwave, sliced in two, put filling in the middle and placed in a small waffle maker - just like a toastie! Thanks Belinda for letting us know, this is a great discovery. 

 

Can you cook in oven or air fryer?

No, we tried this and it was a disaster.  The bread turned out hard and overcooked.

VegiBread can only be cooked in the microwave.  We are continuing to work on a microwave alternative, but so far no luck.

Can you add anything into VegiBread mix to alter the flavours?

Yes! We have added mashed banana, olives, Parmesan cheese, etc.  You may need to alter the water component especially if you are adding ingredients like fresh banana, etc.

Can I make the VegiBread mix up ahead of time?

Yes, you sure can.  I have made the mix and successfully frozen for up to 5 days or kept in the fridge for 4 days.  Just make sure you package well individually. If frozen, you can defrost on the bench for a couple of hours (not in the microwave).
